New chapters?

The world tells you to keep writing new chapters in life…

…sometimes

it’s ok to sit back and re-read the chapters

you have already written.

Take Stock

IMG_1586

There comes a point in life where you look around yourself and take stock. You realize you have come to a point where what you have is what you have… and what you are going to have until you pass on.

At this point you are either satisfied with what you have achieved, or saddened by what your life has amounted to.

If you are satisfied you will be happy in your final years, reflecting back on a full life.

If you are unsatisfied you will become bitter and angry, and blame the world for your personal failures.

So how do you make certain that you are satisfied?

Measure your life in love and laughter,

Not money and things.

…just a braid

Screen Shot 2017-06-02 at 9.35.15 AM

More than just a braid,

the delicate, intertwined strands

that represent the love

of a mother

for her daughter

All of her hopes and dreams

meticulously woven

into a beautiful,

intricate

and strong bond

they will share for all eternity.

Where Does My Strength Come From?

Where Does My Strength Come From?

True strength is measured not by physical abilities,

but it is measured in the heart

Are you strong enough…

…to speak only kindness
…to not strike back
…to protect
…to forgive
…to share
…to love
…to die
I know such a man,
an eternal friend,
He asks nothing in return except that I love Him.
Peace.

Stop the Glorification of Busy…

IMG_5870

Busy is not important
Busy is not powerful
Busy is not successful
take time to be still
take time to pray
take time to love
Stillness is important
Praying is powerful
Loving is successful.

It’s Easier to be Nice ❦

IMG_8177

I was yelled at, swore at and called profane names by a complete stranger the other day.

Why? …

Because I stopped to make sure that all of the children that got off of a school bus had safely crossed the street.

I was dumbfounded.

On so many levels this behaviour baffles me.

Was this man in such a hurry that those extra 20 seconds were going to change his life?

Is he so important that the death of a nation rests upon his shoulders?

Is he that entitled that he feels no one else has the right to be on the same road as him?

How does someone become such an angry individual?

What man yells profanities and calls a woman names like that?

What man treats another man’s wife that way?

What man yells at a child’s mother like that?

It is in the news more and more. Men punching women in the face, men physically and verbally abusing women.

What is happening?

Men are supposed to honour and uphold women, and women are supposed to honour and respect men.

If you know a man like this, I would ask you to help him. Help him find his way back from the violence and hatred, even if that requires calling the police and reporting him.

I did.

I pray he finds the help he needs to live a happier life.

Boundaries

IMG_5369

With each technological leap forward…
electricity
automobiles
computers
landing on the moon
the internet
…humankind has expanded its boundaries.
It is important to remember…
as with children on a playground…
with expanded boundaries comes
increased responsibility.

Raising a Son

IMG_0652

Raising a son is like

Rocks

&

Roses.

Teach him to be strong and firm, to provide a solid foundation for those who love and need him.

The Rocks

Teach him to be full of gentleness and kindness, and not fear beauty, to be brave enough to open up his heart.

The Rose

These sons will become the fathers and husbands our world needs.

The prodigal sons who will go out and find their way in life,

The Rocks

Then, they will return home to their families… stronger, wiser and full of love.

The Rose

If you are constantly focused on what is coming next,

you deny yourself the opportunity to enjoy what you have

accomplished right now.
